Route description: The route starts from the village Saumalkol, which can be reached by buses from the city of Petropavlovsk and villages Aiyrtau and Imantau. On the way you can visit Lake Saumalkol as the fact of anthropogenic impact on the environment. Currently this lake is dead by any definition. As a result of human activity there is no fish, other aquatic organisms; water-demanding species do not grow here. Arriving at the monument there is a walking tour with the examination of the excavations. Botay excavations (taken under the protection of UNESCO) — a monument of the Neolithic period (end — 4-3 millennium BC) with an area of 20 hectares. Botay settlement was founded in 1980 and is being studied for 23 years. There were built two houses of botay type near the settlements in order to promote the cultural heritage and organization of tourist route; today they are conserved. Scientific significance of the monuments that the researches reflect producing forms of farming in the Eurasian steppes of fundamentally new system of communication, horse riding and wheeled mobility.
